Governor Jindal Endorses Jim Donelon for Re-election

Baton Rouge, LA—Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has announced his endorsement of Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon in his bid for reelection in the upcoming election. "I am very grateful to Governor Jindal for his support and vote of confidence in the job that I have done as Insurance Commissioner for the past five years. I enjoy a strong working relationship with his administration, and I am pleased that he recognizes the progress that we have made at the Department of Insurance. Governor Jindal has my full support in his bid for re-election as well."

Commissioner Donelon is seeking re-election after a successful four year term in which Louisiana saw tremendous improvements in the property market following the devastating impact of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita six years ago. Under Donelon’s leadership, the state has seen increased competition in the property market and a reduction in insurance fraud.

In August Donelon received the endorsement of the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association which represents all 64 parish sheriffs and 14,000 deputy sheriffs across the state and recently the endorsement of the Regular Democratic Organization.
